They put your kids in foster homes with strangers, flooding the system this way....it costs millions and millions of dollars every year in all states. They take kids for reasons like a verbal argument in the home between parents, parent who was accused of any crime.
CPS is supposed to be for ABUSED chidren. (ie sexual, or physical abuse).
TELL YOUR STORY!!! Lets get a group together and CHANGE THESE LAWS!!!!!!! STOP BEING SCARED!!!!!!!

  1. Here is a story from a woman in Oregon

13 years ago, the State of Oregon took my children away from me. I was a single mother, who was addicted to meth. Now, I know I had no right to have my children around this type of lifestyle, and if I would have had help, it may not have ended up in adoption. After taking your children, the state is supposed to contact the next of kin, which would have been my mother. The worker I had on my case, told the judge my mother did not want them so they were placed into foster care. My mother never received a call from the state. Directly after they took my children I had a series of court appearances, I was told the wrong date by my case worker 3 times, and ultimately that went against me. They offered no help what so ever, and after 2 years of doing what they wanted, and it never being enough, I gave up the fight, else loose all visitation rights to my children. I am actually going to school right now, and I specifically want to work with women in the system loosing their children. I think if we help the mother, instead of punish her for some things, we would save millions of dollars placing children into foster homes. I have done a lot of research,a and children in foster homes are more likely to go onto commit crimes and remain in the system well after foster care.
Great cause Erin, let me know if you can use my story. There was also money exchanged from the people who ended up adopting my children to the case worker, but i could never prove it. His name is Bob Camaretta.. he is an evil evil man.

  4. I found this and thought it should be published here:

I want this to become so wide spread that government has to do something to get us off it's back. My three little granddaughters, 2, 3, and 6 years old were taken almost two years ago. There was never any evidence of abuse yet they have held them hostage for this long. They put together this ridiculous "permancy plan" and you have to jump through their hoops in order to even have visits with the girls. We were seemingly doing good with weekend visits and then yesterday the caseworker made a suprise visit and things weren't just the way she thought they should be and just about an hour after they were picked up from fostercare the caseworker took them back. Now we aren't sure what will happen. It's so unfair that the girls have to go through this and our family has to be on pins and needles all the time. This not only affects the girls but the whole family, aunts, uncles, grandparents, great-grandparents, mom and dads. And CPS doesn't seem to care. Nor do they know how to come clean with you and tell you the truth all the time. I really hate liars.

  5. CPS/CPI needs to be more closely regulated. Their actions should be motivated by the actual safety of a child and the well being of such child. Not about bonuses for federal funding or abuse of power by a newly appointed regulator trying to make a name for him or herself.

  6. My daughter and her husband were addicted to meth. Her husband left her for an underaged teen but continued to give hmy daughter meth. When they first met I would tell the cop about him selling meth to people but they never did anything aabout it because he would narck other dealer off. After two children and he left her. My daughter was trying to feed her kids and finally got some food stamps so while they were sleeping in our small town she went to the store to buy food and was turned in and they took the children to a forster home. They drugged the kids (yes the kids told us)and after a year or so my husband and I had to go through foster parenting classes to become their foster parents. DHS spent thousands and thousands of dollars for fosyer care when they could have just gave they kids to me. We faught for them for so long and they treated us llike we were the drud additics, My daughter went to a 6 month teartment paid by the state and recovered and still to this day is recovered from meth. The state should have just gave my grtandkids to me and not spend our tax dollars in that way and hurt our family and the kids in that way for so long. They misused the system and money. This town is Prineville Oregon. The story is much deeper but YES DHS, CSD and all these government child abuse centers need to have some kind of government control. They need to FIRST seek the grand parents. I'm not saying my daughter didn't deserve to have her kids taken away but those kids should have came to me first.

  7. Keep the stories coming. Teri, thanks for telling your story. Sounds like DHS shouldt have treated you, the grandparent, with more respect and looked to you as a resource for the children first.

Margaret Carter and the Dept. of Human Services: As a state senator, Carter earned $21,612 per year. In her new position, Carter will be making $121,872, fully $100,000 more than she made as a state senator.

  9. A friend of ours had a child that they left with a friend from church. While they were gone, the man shook their baby. The baby had a brain injury from being shaken. CSD asked no questions, but immediately took away their baby. The family had to fight in court to prove that their baby had been shaken by the man who was babysitting. After almost of year of court appearances the baby was given back, but the parents were warned not to spank their children. They were still keeping tabs on them, even though it was proven that they were not to blame. They finally left the country, for worry that someon would think they were abusive for simply disciplining their children.

  10. I wonder if the CPS workers considered the Detachment problems that a baby gets by not being with their parents at that age. This is another sad and disgusting story and I feel terrible for the parents and the child. CPS workers go out of their way to make parents look like monsters in court. It is their job security to have enough CASE LOAD to get funding. I ask you to go into your local court and watch these public shelter hearings to see these demons at work.

  11. One thing to know...even after they close your case, their investigators still keep tabs on you and they try to affect court decisions involving custody. Another law that should be changed!

  12. CPS worker in Albany Oregon, Judith Self proclaims that her "Most successful case ever" was where she took a child from one parent and gave the child to a parent that abandoned the child for 4 years.
That doesn't sound very successful to me!
